Wyotech offers many specialty programs in: Automotive Technology, Diesel, Collision, Motorcycle and Marine. Wyotech has many campuses such as Fremont, Long Beach and Sacremento CA.

Automotive Technology

Today, auto technicians require an understanding of the science and technology behind the today's modern, highly-sophisticated car. At WyoTech, students will spend time in the classroom but then also apply what they've learned to actual shop projects.

Wyotech's facilities include up-to-date tools and diagnostic equipment which is in step with the industry's most successful shops. At Wyotech, you will explore everything under the hood of and learn how to diagnose and repair problems.

Automotive Technology Training includes:

Basic Engine Management Systems
An intro to principles of electricity, testing, batteries, starting and charging systems, engine theory, engine component inspection and R&R, under hood noise diagnosis, cooling and lubrication systems, environmental management and service information systems.

Drivability Diagnostics
An intro to alternative fuel systems, powertrain control systems, on board diagnostics, distributor and electronic ignition systems, fuel ignition systems, electric and hybrid electric vehicles, exhaust emission systems, customer relation techniques and electronic accessories.

Drivetrain Systems
An intro to torque converters, planetary gears, transmission hydraulics and clutches, manual transmissions and transaxles, four wheel drive and all wheel drive, differentials, precision measuring instruments, removal and replacement of transaxles, electronic transmission diagnostics, manual clutches and drivelines.

Chassis
An intro to the heating and air conditioning systems (HVAC), wheel bearings, brake systems, traction control systems, supplemental inflatable restraint systems (SIR), steering and suspension systems, tires, wheel balancing, computerized four-wheel alignment, vibration analysis, fasteners and wind and water leaks.

Diesel Technology

Diesel is the force behind many technology system of today. Diesel no only encompasses trucks and big rigs, but also oil rigs, power plants, hydraulic systems, locomotives, cargo ships, farming equipment, construction vehicles and mining equipment.

Wyotech will give you experience with all the varieties of diesel engines that power the everyday world. Wyotech's instructors teach students about the top names in the diesel industry, such as: Cummins, Caterpillar, Detroit Diesel, John Deere, and more.

Courses in the Diesel Technology program include:

Get in-depth training in: diesel engine theory and design, engine performance, cooling systems, lubrication systems, induction exhaust and after-treatment systems, hydrostatic transmissions, charging systems, heavy-duty torque converters, power train principles, heavy-duty clutches, transport refrigeration, brake air systems, steering alignment and much more.

Collision Refinishing Technology

Enjoy doing metalworking, painting and detailing? Have you always had the passion for restoring vehicles? Wyotech has a comprehensive Collision Refinishing Technology program divided into two main sections:

Section One - Collision Repair

Two courses are taken by the students in collision repair. These two courses provide education in the fundamentals of restoring cars with an emphasis on: heating and cooling systems, air conditioning, electrical circuits, steel and aluminum panel repair, power accessories, restraint systems, structural straightening, suspension systems, squeeze-type resistance spot welding, antilock brakes and traction control systems.
Section Two - Refinishing

In the refinishing portion of the program, you will learn: surface preparation and masking, spray gun operation, detailing, spot repair and blending techniques, corrosion protection, refinishing equipment, worker protection, hazardous materials, damage analysis and estimating, front section damage analysis, plastic welding, repair and refinishing.

Students in our collision refinishing program can choose to specialize in one of the following:

* Trim and Upholstery
* Applied Service Management
* Motorsports Chassis Fabrication
* Street Rod and Custom Fabrication

Motorcycle Technology

Get on the move to a career in motorcycle technology. Whether it be basic motorcycle repair or specialising in a certain motorcycle brand or style, this program will get you there. WyoTech's Motorcycle Technology program was created to give you the specialized skills and education to service and repair these modern bikes.

Wyotech's Motorcycle Technology program consists take eight core courses. Students then have the option to choose to concentrate in: Asian Motorcycles, European Motorcycles, or Harley-Davidson bikes. These eight core courses are:

* Fundamentals of Electricity

Marine Specialist Program

WyoTech offers a new program to prepare you for a career as a Marine Specialist. If youve ever been interested in working on watercraft engines, propulsion systems, inboard engines, stern drive systems and outboard marine engines, this is the program for you.

The Marine Specialist Program consists of four core courses, with the addition of two courses in each of the following concentrations:

* Vessel Power Transmission
* Inboard Engine Propulsion Systems
* Diesel Engines, Power Generation and Marine Electronics
* Outboard Engine Propulsion Systems

The Marine Specialist Program will give you hands-on training in stern-drive and outboard mechanics, gasoline inboard engines, diesel engines and generator sets, powerheads, electrical systems, fuel systems, lubrication systems, stern-drive units, outboard motors, upper housing, and more.
